Canon U.S.A. Wins BLI PaceSetter Awards in Document Imaging Security and Mobile Print Categories

MELVILLE, N.Y., July 27, 2017 – As an innovator in print-related solutions and mobile print applications with an array of security features, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, recently received two prestigious BLI PaceSetter Awards in the Document Imaging Security and Mobile Print categories. Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab (BLI) analysts recognized Canon in both categories upon conducting an in-depth evaluation through extensive questionnaires and testing of the security and mobile print ecosystems of 13 document imaging providers.
“Canon prides itself on its security initiatives and continued attention to top privacy concerns related to document imaging,” says Toyotsugu Kuwamura, executive vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. “Our latest generation of imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFP systems includes many advanced security features as standard, and our strong uniFLOW platform gives our customers the ability to control and monitor access to sensitive information. In addition to security being top of mind, our wide-reaching mobile print solutions offer customers the flexibility demanded in today’s work environment.”
In its recent findings, Keypoint Intelligence identified the tested Canon devices and solutions as some of the strongest MFPs and solutions in document imaging security, citing the standard user authentication schemas in the latest imageRUNNER ADVANCED MFPs, the uniFLOW platform with its enhanced authentication and user tracking features, as well as the optional imageWARE Secure Audit Manager Express module that can record all device activity and trigger email alerts when specific keywords are printed, scanned, faxed, copied, or sent to help protect an organization’s intellectual property.
With this award, the data firm also recognizes Canon as one of the strongest vendors in mobile print. This is due to the company’s wide-reaching product portfolio, as well as the company’s strong support for connectivity industry standards. Additionally, BLI cites Canon’s attention to mobile print security features.
“While most enterprises understand the importance of data security, the weak link in a company’s security chain is often the MFP devices,” says Jamie Bsales, director, solutions analysis at Keypoint Intelligence. “Canon defies the odds and stands out from the industry with its device certifications and device fleet management security solutions, especially with its uniFLOW solution and imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices, which feature one of the most comprehensive authentication schemas of any MFP manufacturer that we have seen in our findings.”
